Will you ever offer Yaeger's dvd review cds? It seems a lot of people use them but I am not sure if there is a better DVD program out there or comparable? Anyone use Kaplan's lectures? Is there a time limit on how long I can use these lectures if I am studying for the FAR section?

We won't be offering Yaeger DVDs in the near future but it's always a possibility down the road.

Kaplan's lectures are quite good and they have a nice "notes" screen to the right which gives you a nice visual during the presentation, which you can also print. If you buy the physical DVDs they do not expire; the online acccess has an expiration of two years.

I am thinking DVD. You might have a DVD player you can use and watch the DVD's. You could watch them on your TV or most (laptop) computers have DVD drives. Just make sure your computer has a DVD drive if you take this option. If you make a mistake, you can buy an external DVD drive for about $75 that will USB plug into your computer.

And like Herbieherb said, those USB drives might be easy to loose. Also, Yaeger will charge you for a new USB drive is something happens to yours. Or if you delete a file on your USB drive, you are hosed.

Here is some additional feedback on Kaplan over at the Topix CPA review course forum:

http://www.topix.com/forum/business/accounting/TQ8OFB10UHRFTC1CG/p20

"I bought Becker but it was a waste of time. They've marketed it well but in terms of helping a candidate understand the material it falls short by a long shot.
All the DVD tells you is what to underline...its a waste of time.

I started using Kaplan and I must say the DVD's are uptodate and very helpful in terms of grasping the subject matter and how best to approach it.

The flashcards and audio files are very helpful and its a third of the cost of Becker. Definitely more bang for your buck and helps you be better prepared."

I think the USB drive is easier to use than a DVD, but it's totally a preference thing. I think most people study at their computer so the flash drive works fine, but if you want to be able to watch it on your TV the DVD makes sense.
