Are Kaplan review books easier to understand? I do have the time now and I do not want to pick a review book that is in outline format. I like the concepts explained in whole, leaving outlines for cram weeks.

Also, are the Kaplan books the 2011 version because the pictures of the books listed on the website look like the 2009-2010 Version?

Yes, they are the 2011 version.

The Kaplan books do a pretty good job of explaining things, in my opinion. Here is a sample that shows you the layout of the book (note these pages are not in order and are from different chapters). The second page of the document will hopefully give you an idea of the Kaplan format.

Are you looking for the general layout and info about the MCAT b/c u have no idea? I was that way when I signed up for Kaplan. If only someone told me the AAMC had a free sample exam that is pretty close to the real one I would've appreciated that.

If you're looking for books to study from... look for TPR, it's much more comprehensive. I got lucky for this one and bought like 6 books off some guy at my school through a forum (anteaterforum.com) for $50.
